Ideal Reading Locations

We all know the struggle of finding an appropriate place to nuzzle up with a book and just relax. Some places are too loud, some are too busy, and some just don’t have that “reading” feel. I might be a bit biased, as I can pick up a book anywhere, and dive right in, but I know that there are definitely some places that are better than others when it comes to reading.

Here are a few key locations to sit back, relax, and read:

The Beach- the beach is a great place to relax, and pull out a book. Not only is it good to be outdoors, but the scenery is beautiful. There’s something about sitting in the sun, watching the waves crash upon the shore, and catching up on a few pages of your favorite book. Often, when asked to think of their happy place, people mention the beach, so what’s better than being in your happy place with your favorite thing?.... Nothing!

Coffee Shop- A coffee shop or a small cafe can be an awesome place to catch up on some reading. These days, coffee shops are made to have a very “cozy” interior, and therefore will allow you to curl up in a chair, drink a cup of coffee and just relax.

The Library- This one is pretty self-explanatory. Often, people use the library to take out books, study and just sit with a book. The atmosphere and the idea of being surrounded by shelves and shelves of books add to the relaxation aspect. It’s probably one of the best things a reader could experience.

Parks- For those of you who love being outdoors, reading in the park can be great for you. Being in the fresh air, and being surrounded by nature while reading a book can be so comforting. It gives you a way to get some fresh air and catch up on your book.

Bookstore- A lot of bookstores have chairs or seating areas placed around for people to relax and check out some books that they’d be willing to buy. It’s just like when you go to a clothing store and try on some stuff before you actually buy it. Several book store also has little coffee shops built into it as well, which makes it even more of a relaxing experience. Some bookstores have strict policies when it comes to sitting around and reading, but if that’s the case, be like me and hide in the shelves. You’ll feel completely at home.

Reading Nook- Having a little corner, with a soft chair and a blanket can be such a perfect place to nuzzle up with a book. Whether the corner is there for that intended purpose, there’s something about the space that creates such a cozy and relaxing feel.

Honestly, any place can be suitable for reading so don't feel like these are the only options. It's totally cool to sit on your bed with a blanket and a cup of tea and just read. Whatever works for you, works for me.
